If you want to see a laccolith, that is, an unborn volcano, we invite you to join our mountain tour in Bektau Ata. A volcano formed here in the Palaeozoic, turning rock into lava. However, it never ruptured the surface. There is a huge magnetic plug in its crater.
The place is all labyrinthine rocks, deep cloves and ravines that are home to rare plant species and argalis.
Day 1. From Almaty to Lake Balkhash and Bektau Ata mountains
Departure. You can have lunch on the way. A stop by the lake to rest and take photos. An overnight stay in a tourist camp. Sunset photo shooting on the magnificent Sarykuldzha and Bektau Ata.
Day 2. Sunrise photo shooting by the lake.
Taking sunrise photos near the picturesque Lake Karabota. Breakfast in the tourist complex. Free time until lunch. Evening outing to take photos of the ancient well near Mount Sarykulja.
Day 3. Ascending to Bektau Ata Peak.
After breakfast, we trek to the peak. Lunch and rest are then offered. Photo shooting. Returning for dinner and free time.
Day 4. Sunrise near the Sarykulja.
We need to get up early and come to Mount Sarykulja in order to take sunrise photos. We then return to the tourist for breakfast. A walk to the mountain and sunset photo shooting are scheduled after lunch. Dinner. Discussing our plans for the next day.
Day 5. Mount Bektau Ata to Lake Balkhash
After breakfast we go to the lake. A lunch if offered on the way. We then drive along the bank of Lake Balkhash and stop to take photos. We put up a camp and you have free time for photo shooting. A night in tents.
Day 6. Lake Balkhash
Sunrise shooting. A driving trip along the bank and photo shooting. Lunch on the way. Putting up a camp on the Kentubek Peninsula, which is a narrow stripe of land in the lake. Taking photos of the setting sun. Dinner and night rest.
Day 7. Back to Almaty.
Sunrise shooting, breakfast, and departure for Almaty. A lunch is offered on the way. We arrive in the city about 8 p.m.
